something old and something new

I found myself with a spare afternoon yesterday (not hard when you don’t know anyone!) so I jumped on my bike headed out with the 50mm to see what I could see in the ‘city’ of Umea. What I came across was a mix of old and new all over the place.  I’ve just included photo’s of two buildings in this post, which are both on the river bank.  The old appears to be a old warehouse, not sure what it’s used for now, but great colours and timber.  The new is a great mix of office and residential spaces.  There are quite a few ugly buildings here but its great to see that they are willing to preserve the old and challenge with the new when given the opportunity. Hope you like them.
